Classes fill up fast and some only allow a certain number of students per class, if you are sure you want to participate in a class please call and get your name on a sign up list so that your spot is saved!

Adult Education - Welding Night Class
About the Class
The Welding curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry level employment in the field of welding and fabrication. Students will complete study in occupational orientation and safety, basic math, introduction to blueprints (welding symbols), hand and power tools, Oxy/Fuel operations, and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Students will also complete study in occupational orientation and safety, advanced shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), semi-automatic arc welding [gas metal arc welding and flux-cored arc welding (GMAW/FCAW)], gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), carbon arc cutting principles and practices (CAC-A), plasma arc cutting (PAC), and employ-ability skills. The class is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m.

Admission
Any person 18 years of age or older and not enrolled in a high school curriculum is eligible to enroll in adult career education courses.

How to Register
Registration will be held at the George County Career and Technical Center located at 9284 Old 63 S in Lucedale, MS the first night of class. A minimum of 12 people will be needed in order for class to develop. Spots are filled on a first come first served basis.

Credit
Adult career courses are non-credit. However, a certificate MAY be issued upon the successful completion of the course. A person missing more that 16% (3 classes out of 18) may not be eligible for a certificate.

Fees
A $200.00 non-refundable fee will be due the first night of class.
Adult Education - First Responders Night Class
About the Class
This course is designed to give students a basic knowledge of medical, legal, and ethical issues in pre-hospital care. Students will learn proper assessment and management skills of both the medical and trauma patients. Upon completion of all classroom material, test, and related skill objectives students will receive a First Responder Certificate. The class meets on Monday and Thursdays 6:00p.m. till 10:00p.m. for eight weeks.

Admission
Anyone 18 years of age or older and not enrolled in a high school curriculum is eligible to enroll in adult career education courses.

How to Register
Registration will be held at the George County Career and Technical Center located at 9284 Old 63 S in Lucedale, MS the first night of class. A minimum of 12 people will be needed in order for class to develop but, the class can only have a maximum of 15 students. Spots are filled on a first come first served basis.

Credit
Adult career courses are non-credit. However, a certificate WILL be issued upon the successful completion of the course. The class will meet Monday and Thursday nights from 6:00- 10:00 p.m for 8 weeks. This gives you a total of 64 hours.

Fees
A $125.00 non-refundable fee will be due the first night of class. However there is an additional $35.00 fee for CPR certification, if you are already CPR certified then this fee may be waived.
Adult Education - CPR Night Class
About the Class
The CPR Night Class is ran by Mr. John Glass. It instructs students on the proper steps and procedures of preforming CPR. The class will meet the first Tuesday of each month, except for the month of January. All classes will start at 4:00p.m. and last until 8:00p.m. in room #27.

Admission
Anyone 18 years of age or older and not currently enrolled in high school curriculum is elegible to enroll in a adult career education courses.

How to Register
Registration will be held at George County Career and Technical Center at 9284 Old 63 S Lucedale, MS 39452 the first night of class. No more than 10 people per class, names are taken on a first come first serve basis.

Credit
By completing this class you will receive a CPR certification card.

Fees
A $40.00 non-refundable fee is due at the beginning of class.
